The internet search war has just taken its ugliest turn with Microsoft leaving no stone unturned to take on Google’s supreme dominance in the UK search market. The latest step in this showdown is Microsoft’s multi-million pound TV ad campaign to promote Bing.

If you remember, in the last post we have discussed how Microsoft’s Bing has included Tweets in its search. This was a partnership between Twitter and Microsoft and their teams. And Twitter users got crazy about it. The idea is fantastic and Microsoft had the courage to implement it. However, Microsoft’s main competitor, Google is coming into the scene. And, guess what, Twitter is also the target.

From today, the notion of real time web is not longer a myth! This idea, the idea of searching the web in real time, was almost unimaginable. Although web spiders (like the GoogleBot), spiders that crawl the web and index web pages at amazing speeds, are a thing of the present, the concept of real time web is still not understood as it should. Well, because of our bellowed Twitter, things are not in a new dimension.

This is probably the most exciting tech battle of our days: Google versus Microsoft. Although it will probably go on for years, it will remain a very hot subject. It all started a few months ago when each company launched a direct attack on its rival’s most important business.

We just received two brand spanking new screenshots of Microsoft’s new search engine. Not yet launched, the Microsoft Live Search replacement will go by the name of Bing.
Although we find landscape pictures of London’s Tower Bridge and the Dover Cliffs very nice to look at, we’re not sure that huge backgrounds are a good idea for a search engine page. …
