Microsoft Bing Screenshots

We just received two brand spanking new screenshots of Microsoft’s new search engine. Not yet launched, the Microsoft Live Search replacement will go by the name of Bing.

Although we find landscape pictures of London’s Tower Bridge and the Dover Cliffs very nice to look at, we’re not sure that huge backgrounds are a good idea for a search engine page. Maybe Microsoft should take a leaf out of Google’s book and K.I.S.S (Keep it simple, stupid!). People don’t tend to want slow loading pages when searching the web – and a content heavy page like this will certainly be a lot slower than Google’s 26k page. We’ll just have to wait and see how this fares.

Here are the pretty pictures:

The images load after the search so you can start typing and search (if you are fast enough) before the image loads. It was done like that on purpose.

I have played with it and their news service isn't as good as Google nor their maps, but most other stuff is better than Google.
