It looks like Microsoft are preparing some goodies for its users. The next Windows operating system will not only boost users’ overall experience, but also hardware performance. This sounds like good news for all Windows users! It looks like chipsets from Intel, Nvidia, and Advanced Micro Devices will perform better with MS Windows 7.

The largest company in the world, Microsoft, reported disastrous results for the April to June quarter. Their profits went down by almost a third. The bad news for today is that Apple updated iTunes to iTunes 8.2.1, putting an end to the Palm Pre-iTunes synchronization. In May, before the official release of Palm Pre, Palm executives stated that iTunes will work with their product. In their opinion, Palm Pre was an iPod.

Microsoft have announced, they will be releasing the much anticipated new operating system on October 22nd, Windows 7 is going to be available to all new computers from launch and on a cd for other pcs.
It’s been alleged that free upgrades to windows 7 will be available to pc buyers before launch, which could be as early as August.

Opera has announced that it is set to release the first edition of Opera 10, codenamed Peregrine, the browser is alleged to offer an assortment of new features, including compression technology that is said to be 40% faster than it’s predecessor (Opera 9.6).

Much hype will be made in the press today about Facebook raising an additional $200 million from Digital Sky Technologies valuing it at a hefty $10 billion. Granted this sounds like a lot, but isn’t as much as its 2007 valuation. Back then Microsoft threw $240 million into the ring which gave Facebook a worth of $15 billion.
