It looks more and more likely the new iPhone will go on sale September 21, based on a TechCrunch report which reports that no Verizon employee is allowed to take a vacation during that time., the piece quotes a trusted Verizon employee” who said that the US-based carrier is having “all-staff vacation blackout from the dates of Friday, September 21 to September 30.”

Apple’s shares rose to a record high on Friday and the company’s market value surpassed US $600 billion as investors look forward to the launch of a new iPhone and possibly a smaller iPad, as well as a new television product.
Apple stock hit $645.48 in intraday trading, before settling at to $645.02. That was up $8.68, or 1.4 percent, from Thursday’s close.

A major security flaw in iOS that allows for spoofing of SMS messages has been discovered by security researcher Pod2g which allow malicious texters to spoof SMS messages and make them appear to come from other person’s mobile phone, potentially getting users to reveal information they normally would not, or rack up inadvertent charges on their bill.

The soon to be launched Microsoft Surface has the same general curved design as the iPad which also is the case with Samsung tablets, unlike Samsung, Microsoft will not get sued over this, this is perfectly legal for Microsoft. Magid Associates’s recently survey of 4,734 cell phone and smartphone owners revealed that 50% of people currently own an iPad, down significantly from 72% at last count. Android sales declined by 5% over last year, according to a report by Strategy Analysts, Google’s mobile OS’s market share dropped from 60.6 percent a year earlier to 56.3 percent and according to the report Android may be “approaching a peak” in its market share.

Apple successfully convinced a London court today to postpone Judge Colin Birss’s order which requires Apple to post to its Web site and a number of British newspapers a notice explaining that Samsung’s Galaxy tablets do not infringe the iPad’s design. The order is postponed until October, when Apple will have a chance to appeal it.
