Google Announces Chromebook Pixel, Takes On Macbook Air

Google on Thursday announced the Chromebook Pixel, a flashier Chrome OS running laptop with improved hardware, software, and design.

Chromebook Pixel is a 13.3 inch device and has a 2560×1700 display that would rival Apple’s retina display MacBooks.

The screen packs 239 pixels per inch and will be touch-sensitive. Other hardware specs include an Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, integrated Intel HD Graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD.
The WiFi version ($1,299 U.S. and £1,049 U.K.) will start shipping next week and the LTE version ($1,449) will ship in the U.S. in April. If you’re interested in a hands-on experience, you can visit select Currys PC World  store locations.
