Leaked Apple UDIDs Did Not Come From FBI, Publishing Company Admits That The Stolen Data Had Been Obtained From Their Servers

Leaked Apple IDs came from a publishing company, not the FBIThe AntiSec hacker group claimed last week that it has more than 12 million Apple iOS Unique Device IDs. The hackers said that the UDIDs were obtained from a FBI employee laptop, both Apple and the FBI had denied the breach.

Paul DeHart, CEO of BlueToad, a  Florida based publishing company has admitted to NBC News that the stolen data had been obtained from BlueToad’s  servers. BlueToad technicians downloaded the data released by the hackers and found a 98% correlation rate between the leaked information and its own data.

“That’s 100 percent confidence level, it’s our data,” DeHart said. “As soon as we found out we were involved and victimized, we approached the appropriate law enforcement officials, and we began to take steps to come forward, clear the record and take responsibility for this.”
