Apple is retiring Ping, its iTunes based music Social Networking service on September 30th, they are no longer accepting new members as of today.

Apple will instead leverage its partnerships with Twitter and Facebook to make its various software and service offerings social. iTunes 11 will instead display the Facebook friends who ‘Like’ each entry, Facebook and Twitter sharing for iTune purchases, once you purchase or download, you can share a link to that content to Facebook or Twitter.
