Google’s Android mobile platform has a come a long way in the past two years, it has been winning users, developers and fans with its open-to-all approach. Android mettle may have been proven for smartphones, nevertheless, its gaming capabilities are yet to be put to test. Sony Ericsson seems to be taking that plunge. Sony Ericsson is reportedly making a PSP Go type Android smartphone with a gaming focus for release this October.

The mobile device could be a cross between the Samsung Galaxy S (landscape slider) and the PSP Go ( with game controls) in place of a regular QWERTY keyboard. It will running Android 3.0 and 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The displaypossibly will be between 3.7 and 4.1 inches with WVGA or better resolution and 5 megapixel camera.
