The Legend that is Tetris is 25 years old today. What a milestone!

It’s still as popular as it was back then. It was created on June 6, 1984, by Alexey Pajitnov in Moscow He came up with the name from the Greek numerical prefix tetra and tennis, his favourite sport.

Tetris was sold on a range of 1980s computers, however it was the hugely successful handheld version for the Game Boy (launched in 1989) that established the reputation of the game as one of the most popular ever.
Today, the game reaches multiplatform’s and people are playing it on online on general websites and even social networks like myspace & facebook.
We at Sporkings love the game and often have the marvelous theme music just running in the background for motivation 😛

We Love you Tetris! Happy Birthday!
