We’ve been waiting for what seams like an age, but WWDC is finally here and boy was it worth it. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it to California, so we had to take advantage of multi-monitor setups, and just stream our hearts away; Text from MacRumours, Images from gdgt, Video from TWiT.
The anticiptation around the keynote was amazing as per usual. There were a few MacBook announcements, [...]

Web startup 12seconds caused a bit of a stir last year when they launched a cool (but gimmicky) video service. The idea was that people record 12 second video clips directly on their site (via Flash). There 12second clips could then be commented on by other people, and submitted like an RSS feed to Twitter, your blog and all the usual social media links.
Now 12seconds are taking a fresh twist on things. [...]

We just received two brand spanking new screenshots of Microsoft’s new search engine. Not yet launched, the Microsoft Live Search replacement will go by the name of Bing.
Although we find landscape pictures of London’s Tower Bridge and the Dover Cliffs very nice to look at, we’re not sure that huge backgrounds are a good idea for a search engine page. Maybe Microsoft should take a [...]

Straight from the “Say What?!” department, this is one of those stories that makes you double back and re-read, in the thought that you must have read it wrong the first time. Twitter are to be launching their own TV program.
That’s right, social-networkings / micro-blogging website Twitter have been in talks with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and it [...]

It looks like the rumours will indeed be confirmed true. According to the Guardian, o2 will be releasing the new Palm Pre by the end of the year. This means o2 outdid both Orange and Vodafone with this all-important exclusivity deal, which is surprising as Vodafone has a history with Palm, having been loyal to the Palm Treo Pro for the last few years.
The American system of mobile phone network exclusivity [...]

Any other news site you’ll read tonight will be talking about how Wolfram is the new ‘Google killer’. We fail to see how this is so. If anything, Wolfram is in competition with Wikipedia.
The service works with what they call “computational knowledge engine”, or what we call “providing answers yo questions”. Ask yourself what would you get if you spliced Google [...]

Pictures of RIM’s new yet-to-be-released version of the Blackberry Storm 2 have been leaked onto the Internet.
What we can gather from the pictures so far is that Surepress has been superseded with Truepress, which will surely please many Blackberry fans. Tactile buttons have been replaced by much cooler touch-style buttons. The 3.2mp camera remains in place, but we can see that WiFi has been [...]

Google have launched their first television advertising campaign ever. To be shown only in the US, their ad is promoting Chrome.
Chrome being Google’s Internet browser that caused much hype in 2008, grabbing 1.4% of the market. This may not sound a lot, but for the browser market that’s huge. Any company that can take a chunk of Microsoft’s monopoly definitely has something to brag [...]

Two years after being available in the US/Canada, Microsoft Surface has finally reached British shores.
Retailing for a whopping £10,000 means we’re probably not going to see them popping up all over the place any time soon, unless you often stay in 5 star hotels (Sheraton Hotel group use Surface tables for self-check ins by tapping your credit cared on the table – creepy) .
Microsoft [...]
