Facebook Spam Alert, Fake WhatsApp App Phishing Users’ Data

Facebook Spam: WhatsApp Imposter App Reportedly Phishing Users' Data

According to a report by Next Web Facebook users are receiving a request to use the popular mobile messaging app on Facebook on Monday and WhatsApp doesn’t have a Facebook app.

Apparently  imposters of the mobile messaging app are trying to steal your info through Facebook.

WhatsApp was prompt in responding to the issue through their Blog   “Some people are getting Facebook notifications that “xxx has shared 3 pics with you in WhatsApp”. This has nothing to do with WhatsApp, so please ignore the message. The  app requests permission to access basic information and information people share with each other. We don’t know if the app can cause any damage, but just to be on the safe side: don’t grant the request.”
