My Three Networks

There’s no doubt that convergence is the future and it’s a matter of time before tripleplay and quadplay services become the norm of our daily lives. For the uninformed, quadplay refers to a mix of Broadband, TV, Home Phone and Mobile Phone Services bundled all together for the subscriber as a single service.

The latest company to join the quadplay bandwagon is TalkTalk. Charles Dunstone, CEO – Carphone Warehouse has announced that the company plans to launch a Canvas TV service and Mobile TalkTalk network in the next 2 years. Last year, Carphone Warehouse acquired Tiscali – a well established broadband and TV service so its quadplay plans align well with the overall company strategy.

With the plan to roll out quadplay services, it has set alarm bells ringing for its competitors including Virgin Media. What’s next – Pentaplay and Hexaplay?
