Twitter TV

Straight from the “Say What?!” department, this is one of those stories that makes you double back and re-read, in the thought that you must have read it wrong the first time. Twitter are to be launching their own TV program.

That’s right, social-networkings / micro-blogging website Twitter have been in talks with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and it is said that on Monday they made an agreement to produce a non-scripted television show based around a live twitter feed.

The show would be a competition for players to hunt down celebrities in a given 140-character clues. I’m pretty sure one of our editors came up with this idea not too long ago, with the name Stalkher. Even with the slightly creepy premise, this show could become a huge hit in today’s celebrity driven culture.

The producers have said

“Twitter is transforming the way people communicate, especially celebrities and their fans,” said Reveille managing director Howard T. Owens, who went on to claim the show will “unlock Twitter’s potential on TV.”
