No because the iPhone isn't available for T-Mobile in the UK. You'll have to edit your own settings in the menus if you want to try and get that to work. Let us know if you have any luck.

This method does indeed work to enable tethering here on O2. The problem in the UK at least as of today is that using the old O2 ipcc file which enables tethering disables MMS on OS 3.0 GM … there must be incompatible settings in the ipcc file with the current method by which O2 are deploying MMS on the iPhone. Even when you edit them manually in the Carrier Settings page on the iPhone back to what they were pre-installing the ipcc file, MMS is still disabled, so it must be something deeper in the ipcc file which is causing the incompatibility.

Any way of producing a new custom ipcc file for O2 for the new 3.0 GM which will enable tethering but not also lose MMS functionality?

Two options I'm thinking you could do, maybe get the latest beta version of itunes (8.2b7) cos that's what I had when I did it. and the other option is you could try installing the latest OS 3.0 GM Seed, I'm about to do that now, will let you know how it goes.
